Professional buyers should confirm:

  1. Exact battery and inverter models.
  2. Low-voltage or high-voltage battery input architecture.
  3. Battery operating voltage.
  4. Charge and discharge limits.
  5. CAN or RS485 communication protocol.
  6. Communication cable pinout.
  7. Firmware versions.
  8. Approved battery expansion configuration.
  9. Installation and commissioning settings.
  10. Required backup and grid operating modes.

Pylontech Battery Expansion – Parallel Modules, BMS and LV Hub

Pylontech’s modular products support expansion only under their corresponding manufacturer instructions.

US5000 Expansion

The manufacturer specifies up to 16 US5000 modules in one approved parallel group.

For example:

  • 2 US5000 modules = 9.6 kWh nominal capacity.
  • 3 US5000 modules = 14.4 kWh.
  • 4 US5000 modules = 19.2 kWh.
  • 8 US5000 modules = 38.4 kWh.
  • 16 US5000 modules = 76.8 kWh.

These figures show battery nominal capacity, not guaranteed inverter output power.

Fidus PRO Expansion

Pylontech’s Fidus system supports modular low-voltage expansion.

Pylontech Battery Storage Sizing – 5, 10, 15 and 20 kWh Systems

Residential battery sizing must consider evening consumption, available solar surplus, backup requirements and the inverter’s power limits.

The correct storage capacity is not determined simply by installing one kilowatt-hour of battery per kilowatt of solar panels.

Pylontech Battery Capacity Examples

ConfigurationNominal energyApprox. manufacturer usable energy
1 × US50004.80 kWh4.56 kWh
2 × US50009.60 kWh9.12 kWh
3 × US500014.40 kWh13.68 kWh
4 × US500019.20 kWh18.24 kWh
1 × Fidus PRO5.12 kWh4.864 kWh
2 × Fidus PRO10.24 kWh9.728 kWh
3 × Fidus PRO15.36 kWh14.592 kWh
4 × Fidus PRO20.48 kWh19.456 kWh

These are additive module capacity calculations for suitable configurations. Actual energy delivered to AC loads will be lower after inverter losses and any additional operating reserves.

Example: Residential Evening Consumption of 9 kWh

Suppose a residential PV customer requires approximately 9 kWh of electricity overnight.

Two Pylontech US5000 modules provide 9.12 kWh of manufacturer-listed usable battery energy.

However, inverter conversion losses and backup SOC reserves can reduce the electricity actually available to household loads.

Therefore, two modules may be insufficient if the customer must receive a full 9 kWh at the AC output while also retaining a backup reserve.

A proper design should verify the actual consumption profile, usable SOC range, battery-to-load efficiency, inverter output power and available solar charging energy.

Pylontech Batteries for Off-Grid and Backup Power

Pylontech low-voltage battery systems can be suitable for selected off-grid and backup installations with approved inverter equipment.

Typical applications include:

  • Off-grid homes.
  • Remote properties.
  • Agricultural facilities.
  • Technical equipment backup.
  • Hybrid PV installations with essential-load supply.
  • Remote monitoring and communications infrastructure.

Battery Storage Does Not Automatically Provide Backup Power

A battery system connected to an ordinary grid-tie inverter does not necessarily provide power when the electricity grid fails.

Backup capability depends on the complete inverter or inverter/charger architecture, grid isolation provisions, control system and configured backup output.

Before selling a backup-ready system, the installer should check:

  • Maximum backup output.
  • Single-phase or three-phase architecture.
  • Battery discharge power.
  • Black-start requirements.
  • Critical-load circuits.
  • Grid-islanding functionality.
  • Generator integration where relevant.
  • Battery autonomy.
  • Winter energy availability.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pylontech Solar Batteries

Is Pylontech a good solar battery manufacturer?

Pylontech manufactures LiFePO4 residential and commercial energy storage products with established modular platforms. The suitability of a specific battery depends on technical specifications, inverter compatibility, installation requirements, documentation and lifetime system costs.

What Pylontech batteries are available at 3Buy Solar?

The current webshop lists US5000 4.8 kWh and Fidus PRO 5.12 kWh batteries, together with Fidus PRO Wi-Fi and extension cable accessories.

What is the difference between Pylontech US5000 and Fidus PRO?

US5000 is a 48V nominal IP20 rack battery offering 4.56 kWh usable energy. Fidus PRO is a 51.2V nominal IP65 battery offering approximately 4.864 kWh usable energy, with a heating option on the Pro variant.

How much usable energy does Pylontech US5000 provide?

4.56 kWh under the manufacturer’s stated conditions, compared with 4.8 kWh nominal capacity.

Is the US5000 a high-voltage battery?

No. It belongs to Pylontech’s low-voltage 48V-class storage portfolio.

Can Pylontech US5000 batteries be connected in series?

The US5000 is designed for approved low-voltage parallel expansion, not unrestricted series connection to form a high-voltage battery.

How many Pylontech US5000 modules can be connected?

The manufacturer lists up to 16 modules per approved single parallel group. Larger configurations require separate manufacturer-approved architecture and equipment.

What is the usable capacity of Pylontech Fidus PRO 5.12?

The FB-L-5.12-EU-Pro documentation lists 5.12 kWh nominal and 4.864 kWh usable energy at 95% depth of discharge.

Does Pylontech Fidus PRO have heating?

The FB-L-5.12-EU-Pro variant includes low-temperature heating. The standard Fidus version is a different configuration.

Is Pylontech Fidus PRO suitable for outdoor installation?

Fidus PRO has an IP65 enclosure and published environmental qualifications, but the exact location must satisfy the manufacturer’s installation requirements. IP65 does not mean suitability for flooding or every outdoor environment.

Can Pylontech batteries work with Deye hybrid inverters?

Selected Pylontech batteries are compatible with specific Deye inverter models. The exact battery, inverter and firmware combination must be checked.

Can Pylontech batteries work with Victron?

Selected Pylontech low-voltage systems support approved Victron inverter/charger configurations. Managed-battery communication and system settings must be confirmed.

Does Pylontech work with Solis or Growatt?

Selected inverter models are documented as compatible. A manufacturer’s brand name alone is not sufficient confirmation.

What is Pylontech Force H3?

Force H3 is a modular high-voltage battery platform for compatible energy storage inverters. It is not interchangeable with the US5000 or Fidus low-voltage batteries.

What is Pylontech Force H3X?

Force H3X is a more integrated hybrid energy storage product platform. Buyers must check the complete inverter and battery configuration.

Can Pylontech batteries supply power during a grid outage?

Only when the complete inverter and electrical installation provide the appropriate backup or off-grid functionality.

What is the warranty on Pylontech US5000?

The hosted US-series European warranty specifies seven years under its conditions, with applicable extension requirements. The exact current terms and registration status must be verified.

Where can I download Pylontech datasheets and certificates?

3Buy Solar provides direct downloads for US5000 and Fidus battery datasheets, manuals, compatibility lists and technical certificates on the relevant product pages.

Does Pylontech manufacture commercial BESS systems?

Yes. Pylontech offers larger commercial and industrial storage products with architectures designed for applications such as peak shaving, PV self-consumption and energy management.

Can I combine different Pylontech battery generations?

Only where the manufacturer expressly permits the combination and provides the required battery configuration and communication instructions.

Where can I buy Pylontech solar batteries wholesale in Europe?

Professional installers, EPC contractors and approved resellers can shop Pylontech at 3Buy Solar or request a project quotation.
